Explore paths through the San Bernardino National Forest with panoramic lake and mountain views. Trails range from short climbs to longer forest hikes.

Big Bear Lake offers extensive hiking terrain during the sunny summer months. The lake sits at an elevation of 6,743 feet (2,055 meters), so expect thinner air. Stay hydrated and pace yourself on uphill climbs.

You must keep dogs on a leash no longer than 6 feet on all trails. Do not feed local wildlife, as there are active bear populations. Park only in designated areas and display a $5 daily Adventure Pass at National Forest trailheads.
